Unlike traditional video editing tools, Crate operates completely within your browser using WebAssembly. This means that when you upload a video or audio file to generate captions, the file never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, and we do not have access to any of your media.
While speech-to-text transcription occurs locally within your web browser, Crate connects to cloud formatting APIs to evaluate sentence context and assign visual emojis to subtitle lines. During this process, only short text snippets (never raw video or audio files) are sent to the formatting service.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our website or other sites across the internet.
